ST. ANNS WELL ROAD POLICE STATION - ST. ANNS, NOTTINGHAM.
We are currently constructing the St Anns Police Station for Nottinghamshire police which has a floor area of circa 1800m2.
This scheme has been designed to the new Part L regulations and the reduction of energy costs was an essential part of the design brief.

Whilst the building has to respond to these issues, it was also designed to a restrictive budget.
The design of the building is set to achieve the following:
- A compact simple efficient footprint.
- A building that generally can be naturally ventilated.
- A design that provided maximum use of daylight, especially to deep plan areas. The functional areas, were arranged to make use of north light and cross ventilation together with roof overhangs and smaller windows to south facing facades.
- The fabric of the building has been designed to reduce heat loss.
- Lighting schemes are designed for efficient operation and control.
- Heat recovery is included in the mechanical room conditioning units where installed.
- Solar panels for domestic hot water are included.
However, the single most important issue was to get the siting, orientation and section of the building designed to optimise the passive control of the environment to be created.

The construction is a steel frames building with a combination of brick and aluminium cladding facing, cavity and blockwork insulation and inner skins. Pad and strip foundations. Insulated insitu concrete ground floor, insitu concrete first floor. Standing seam aluminium dual mono pitched roof and aluminium patent glazing to clerestory windows. Composite aluminium clad timber windows. Veneered timber door sets. Lift. Floors finish generally carpet tiles. Walls finish generally painted plaster. Suspended ceilings. M&E installations principally comprise a wet heating system, part natural ventilation and part local air conditioning, lift installation, electrical services include lighting, power, voice and data, fire alarm, access control, remote controlled access gates and CCTV.

External works principally comprise tarmacadam car parking, access road, soft landscaping, access gates and fencing, bin and cycle store. Connection of all utility services.
