THE NEW ART EXCHANGE
The works comprise the construction of a new five storey mixed use arts centre at 39-41 Gregory Boulevard, Hyson Green, Nottingham, NG1 6BE. The site itself is very tight with four immediate boundaries, with the only one point of shared access. For the duration of the contract a tower crane shall service the majority of the site for materials logistics purposes.

The construction comprises of, the demolition of two existing buildings and disconnection of existing known services. The new construction consists of a cast in-situ concrete framed building with basement, ground, first, second and third floors incorporating two gallery spaces, rehearsal room, artists studio, café and associated front and back of house accommodation. The external envelope of the building is clad in special black glazed facing bricks, which include brick faced lintels. External aluminium sliding windows and doors and timber internal doors. Internal finishes include fair faced concrete surfaces, high specification timber flooring and propriety other finishes. The Specialist mechanical and electrical installations to all floors including a natural ventilation system, underfloor heating system and lift installations. External works are limited to the areas immediately surrounding the building
The approximate gross internal floor area of the development is 1370m2.
